Fill Your Heart No. 11 - Everything You Need, You’ve got Inside Yourself

Every week we look for stories of positivity and humanity to give us more reasons to celebrate.

This week Piper Creative’s Tori Meglio is filling the very big shoes of Daphne Kass to write this newsletter. Daphne has finished her summer Apprenticeship and is headed back to Carnegie Mellon for the Fall Semester. We’re already missing her whole heart!

We hope our news this week fills your heart. These stories are from real people just like you. Absorb all the love you can!

ALL YOUR SCARS ARE LOVELY

Paulo Coelho de Souza is a Brazilian lyricist and novelist, best known for his novel The Alchemist. In 2014, Coelho began uploading his personal short stories to a blog (talk about a full archive).

This story about the “perfect heart” is one of our favorite 20-second narratives, reminding us that all our scars are lovely.

TAKE A DEEP BREATHE

Sometime in your day-to-day, try to turn off all the noises you can around you, and give yourself some ‘quiet time’. In the silence, let yourself think about something. Or if possible… think about nothing.

In a clip from Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, Fred Rogers talks about the need for self-discipline and allowing time for contemplation and silence.

If you’re in Pittsburgh, try to get to the North Shore and sit with the Mister Rogers’ statue a bit. We promise you won’t be disappointed.

If this touched your heart, share it with someone you care about.
