Michele McGough

Michele is the founder and CEO of Solutions4networks, a networking and security company. Solutions4networks is based on the North Shore and has been in business for nearly 20 years.  

Michele is nominated for both CEO of the Year + Culture Leader of the Year. delivers the highest quality solutions, security, and services for enterprise, hybrid, and cloud networks. 

McGough is also a Founding Member of Next Act Fund, angel fund investing in women-owned and led companies in the Western Pennsylvania region.

John Thornton 

John Thornton was nominated for CEO of the Year for his work leading Astrobotic. Astrobotic is a lunar logistics company that delivers payloads to the Moon for companies, governments, universities, nonprofits, and individuals. 

2019 was a huge year for the company, as they were awarded a $79.5 Million contract by NASA to deliver 14 payloads to the moon.

The company’s spacecraft accommodates multiple customers on a single flight, offering lunar delivery at an industry-defining price of $1.2 Million per kilogram. Astrobotic is a partner with NASA through a Space Act Agreement under the Lunar CATALYST program and has 22 prior and ongoing NASA contracts.

Alison Alvarez

Alison Alvarez is on a mission “to be the world's most useful person” according to her LinkedIn bio. Currently, she deploys her skills in leading teams, making software, building user relationships, and solving problems to runBlastPoint. 

BlastPoint makes big data accessible to everyone through interaction with maps. Their software enables people to explore locations, discover new customers, evaluate expansion territories, and share those findings in seconds and without the need to be an expert. 

The Tech Council recognized her with nominations for both CEO & Start-up of the Year.
